Here is an example of the plugin in use at a real events calendar site. I am really content with the plugin although there is some problems with the tooltip (when you hover over a date in the small calendar). As there is many times (especially on Fridays and Saturdays) a long list of events, the tooltip does not fit in the window. Does anyone have an idea how to force the tooltip to appear at the bottom?

I'm still fighting it. I think that is the last bug with the 6.5. series. I want to publish a 6.6 version that takes care of WP 2.8 compatibility and get rid of some bugs.
But, I have not licked that one yet. And sorry to say, but I would like to publish very soon and maybe waiting for the 7.0 release to tackle this one.
Opinion?

Just checked your site (nice by the way)
I did made some mods where the width changes a bit depending on the description length. Maybe that will take care of your problem. But if the description is big enough, tooltip will go offscreen.

changing the width depending on the lenght could solve some problems indeed. I did take out beginning time and also took smaller fonts so it is a bit better now. Maybe your mods of varying widht would be a good workaround. How to do that?
and I am looking forward for the WP 2.8. compatible version, the EC Plugin is one of the reasons why I wait for an update . . .
