It's today, but the calendar tells me it's tomorrow!

Is there any way to have it read the user's computer's date/time?

My host is located in the eastern time zone of the USA and I have my WordPress set to Chicago time.

It's 10PM here but the calendar says it's tomorrow already.

How can I fix this?

As said above, I would prefer it to use the visitor's computer time/date, but I would be happy enough to just have it feed off either my WordPress timezone or the server timezone.

Thanks!

You can edit the sponsor variables at the top of ec_calendar.class.php file. I will be adding an option to turn this off in the next version. It was something that was required bedcause of the time that has been taken to do it. Honestly it was the only way to keep any motivation to work on the plugin. But at least you can remmove it if you want. Beauty of open source.

rosko said:

Events with associated posts (created at Add Event) are linked to those posts -- e.g. any link that starts "/calender/..." on that website -- and this is default behaviour in the plug-in.

Normally, when you specify a "link out" for an event, the links open in a new window. I want some to link to a page on the website, so I hacked the plug-in to not open in a new window when the link doesn't start with "http://" or "https://".

I also hacked it so that the events list (which I put into the sidebar) can link through to local "link out" pages; normally, it ignores "link out" links.

Would you mind sending this code? This is exactly what I need but I am not a php coder. Thanks!

Hi,

I have just set up the Events Calendar at http://www.dunbartonshire.org and I was wondering if there was a way linking an event to a post and vice versa. I know that when you create an event, you can generate it as a post, but is it possible to automatically have them linked, so clicking on the event will redirect you to the post and vice versa?

Many thanks, and I must say, it is a great plugin!

I too can find no way to delete events. Have had some entered in error, or duplicated and can't get rid of them.

According to the WP's description of the widget:

"Events-Calendar is a
versatile replacement for the original calendar included with WordPress
adding many useful functions to letkeep track of your events. The plugin
has an easy to use admin section that displays a big readable calendar
and "lets you add and delete events."

That obviously indicates there is a way so . . . . . . How do you delete events under the admin section?

The only way I can find is to change the display visibility level to "administrator", but that kind of begs the issue. Is there something obvious that I am missing here??

You shouldn't use 'wp-content(/plugins)' as a path in you functions, for example in wp_enqueue_script. Instead, you should use function plugins_url function.

Another useful function is wp_localize_script that can be used instead of hardcoding of javascript in wp_head.

I could help you with this if you need that.
