Are there any docs, at all, for using Events calendar? I’ve read every post in your forum now and not a one of them gives me a clue on how to create an event. -I set up everything perfectly but there doesn’t seem to be any way to create events, so a simple doc telling me what to look for would be great.

I have two blog sites, both with the Arrad Theme 1.3.5…both WordPress and both hosted on BlueHost.com
I’ve downloaded and installed your calendar plug-in for both. On one of them, http://www.pfsmarketwyse-blog.com it works like a charm – I love it. On the other one, http://www.getperspectives.com it won’t work at all. It just shows up as a single line on my page that says “Events are coming soon, stay tuned!” even though the settings and everything seem to be identical for both sites.
Any ideas why I’m having a hard time with one but not the other?
Thanks

I use wordpress v2.8 and installed your calendar v6.5.2.1
The sidebar only shows “events are coming soon stay tuned!” even though ive added the calendar widget and a few events, whats the deal??
I have put in a large calendar on a page and that seems to work ok.
Also, when i DONT have the sidebar widget, my sidebar suddenly shows ALL my widgets installed, even though they are not added to the sidebar… Whats goin on with that??
I noticed there are no answers to questions on this blog – do u email the answers? Wouldnt it be helpful to answer via comments?
Thanks – its an awesome app when working!

Hello,

Also in large calendar view I have set it up, and it just is displaying the current month as well as not displaying any events I setup. Can someone please give me some input?

Hi there.. I am REALLY in need of a good calender plugin for a wordpress website that I am working on. This website is for a local bar, and they do events like live music and such.. ANYWAYS, I was wondering if there was a way to make each even clickable, and have the link bring you to either an outside page (like the band’s website) or an inside blog page where the owner of the website can create a post or page that explains more about the event./
If this is possible to have done, it would be AWESOME. I am willing to offer monetary support to have this feature added.. so email me if you are interested

We have been using Events Calendar for abou two years and have generally had no problems. However after upgrading to WordPress 2.8 and seeing the Warning that disapperas on clicking we have found an irritating feature. One of our editors made a mistake by posting events for as fare ahead as 2011. I managed to clear the event from the calendar but two versions of it remain in the sidebar. The event has disappeared from the calendar and is nowhere to be found this side of MiddleEarth. Why can’t we edit ALL events that we have posted in the same way that we can edit pages and posts? Where are the events stored so that we can delete or edit them? We are so frustrated that we may very well delete the events calendar completely it just makes us look foolish if we have displays like this.

Hi…
I’ve found an issue with eventscalendar 6.5.2.1 when I try and schedule a multi day event.
In my particular example, I’ve scheduled a multi-day event to start on the 22nd of May at 5:00pm, and finish on the 29th of May finishing at 8:00am.
It tells me the end time is before the start time.. despite being on a different day
Hopefully you find a way to fix it in future.. however my workaround is simply to not use times for multi-day events..
Nice product – very happy with it so far.

I found a workaround to the ‘Events are coming soon, stay tuned!’ problem. In the file, ec_db.class.php line 297, remove “LIMIT $NUM”. In other words that line should now be:
$sql = “SELECT * FROM `$this->mainTable` WHERE `eventStartDate` >= ‘” . date(‘Y-m-d’) . “‘ OR `eventEndDate` >= ‘” . date(‘Y-m-d’) . “‘ ORDER BY eventStartDate, eventStartTime “;
This isn’t a permanent fix or anything but it is good enough for me to deploy my site for now. Hope it helps someone.

I installed 6.6. I’m using a headway theme on WP 2.8 in Firefox.
The problems I’m having are:

* When I advance to the next month, there are no advance or previous months to click on
* My favicon doesn’t show up with this plugin activated
Looking forward to getting this going…

I’m running the latest version of EC and WP and EC seems to be causing an issue with the backend of WP when creating posts. When adding custom fields the edit page goes into a refresh which then reloads the page, and if the post wasn’t saved cause a loss of the text. I went through each plugin and the issue stopped when EC was turned off. If you notice without EC on when you add a custom field the new field will flash yellow and add without refreshing the page.

MAJOR PROBLEM!!
I’m having a HUGE problem with the beta version of your plugin.
I’ve put it on my test-site. Which is exactly the same as my regular site, but it has rubbish posts on it.
The loading bar comes up over alllll my buttons on the top of the page. Not at first, but after it loads the page completely the grey striped progress type bar ends up all over the website. Even over images… you can find it here http://greys.gemandsarah.com/
It doesn’t happen on the normal site (but that is with the pre-beta version 6.5.2.1) http://www.greysgabble.com
I love this plugin, I don’t want to have to change over to a new one, not to mention the fact that I have over 2 years worth of calendar entries on my website that I don’t want to lose!
Any idea on what to do?!
October 4, 2009, 8:42 pmJD says:
Well as requested I broke the plugin. I don’t see any replies here for anyone who is in trouble, so perhaps this post is in vain.
I managed to add several fields to customize the plugin for my needs. The fields post and recall when needed.
However, from the start of using this plugin, in the main admin window, it shows the big calendar above and the fields below it to post a new event (including my custom fields). But where there is supposed to be the little calendar icon to choose a date, there is nothing. Also no matter what is entered the WIDGET constantly says “Events coming soon”.
BUT, it the icons DO appear if I have to edit an already posted event.
I would still like to try and add an upload IMAGE field for the event but so far that has escaped me. Because some events have FLYERS or IMAGES needed for the post.
ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
Thanks in advance.

I really like the plug-in. I’m using the 6.6 beta w/ wp 2.86 and it works fine. Lots of flexibility/functionality etc… Tiny issues such as the one mentioned above (can’t edit events). You CAN edit certain fields such as “title”. Can’t edit times. The work around is to delete the event and re-add it.
One question though and I may be missing something, is there a way to add a recurring event or do they just need to be added as separate events every week? Thanks in advance!

I guess I don’t understand your product and what you are trying to accomplish with this calendar, but why not just use google calendar, it is accessible by whoever you choose it to be, it is linkable to your website it you want, and it can be used for private or public events. If the wheel is turning why try and create an new wheel?

I saw in the “Bug Tracker” system the acknowledgement of a e-mail reminder feature. Do you know when that is going to be integrated into the plugin? I need one that will blast an email to multiple addresses

Hi,
I’m using version 6.5.2.1 with WP Version 2.8.5. We have been using the calender fine for a few months now at http://www.stjamescarlisle.org.uk/whatson, however it has suddenly stopped showing events published for next month (April) and the navigation has disappeared for April. March is still working fine and it is possible to view back to when we started using the calender. Any Suggestions?
Thanks
Matt
